A new addition saying hi!

I just signed up today and would like to say hello and thanks for being here. I am just getting my feet wet so to speak. I just bought a dinghy and am on the lookout for my first sailboat. Very exciting. So you will be hearing a lot from me in the future!

Welcome Melissa:

Lots of info to be gleaned from theis forum. When you say dinghy do you mean a small sailing vessel or a small boat that is used with paddles or outboard motor. Learning to sail on a dinghy is very good for learning about wind and wave movements etc. Good luck with it

I just got a kaboat which i am going to put an electric outboard on for when my arms get tired. It is an inflatable kayak you can also rig for sailing or put a motor on.

Sounds like fun. Just noticed that you are in Ft. Meyers. Wife and I took the kidlets to Punta Gorda for a weeks cruising. Man you live ina beautiful area. Alot of it is accessible with a kayak too. We have inflatable kayaks on our boat and really enjoy them. Good luck and welcome aboard.

Aloha Melissa,
Welcome aboard! Hope you enjoy ther forum. Your inflatable sounds like fun. My friend flipped one when he had an outboard on it. Wasn't good for the outboard! Just be careful.
Do you have two threads going here?
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Hey Photorebel, here casiopea in the same boat as you (no pun). I am also looking to buy my first boat. Up until now I have simply used the boats at the sailing school where I have been an instructor for 6 years now.

I also hail from Florida...Miami to be exact.

Fair Winds.
