Re: The Mallorca Squad

A lot of us on here are pilots. I try not to mix boats and planes on the forum but sometimes the planes are caught in a rare shot.

For those that love the Military heavies, here is a C17 making the final approach.

NICE picture...Wasn't there supposed to be an airplane in it?

Yea.....Some REALLY don't like that.....

Re: The Mallorca Squad

Sorry Hoppy, gotta disagree with you on that. Unless you want to agree doctors are just mechanics, except for the orthopedic guys who are just carpenters. The more sophisticated the a/c, the more sophisticated the systems-- dinghy vs SuperYacht.

Anyhow, I kind of like the odd a/c picture seeking into the thread. Feel free Weavis!

On another topic, wx here is brighter & warmer again & we were sailing in shorts all day. Now we are enjoying what will likely be the last night at anchor until next year. It's sad, but the time is coming to go home to central heat & high speed Internet & great beef & nice cars always available & other friends & a new government.

Im a fan of twins/light jets and the heavies myself. Although only single engine rated, Ive flown a lot of the prefered. Never saw the point of uplicencing as I would not be doing it commercially and did not like the cost of getting the rating.

I do however have a favourite twin. Its not a jet. Its the Piaggio Avanti. Fast economical and a delight to fly. My buddy is a pilot for a lease outfit and Ive flown several times with him and his co pilot. I love it.

WOW you had me scratching my head as it's ages since I had posted on this thread. Now I see Saleen411 had included my comment from ages ago...

Whilst on the comparing "similar" careers topic, something I heard
the other day will give Weavis and any other Doc's a chuckle.

My girlfriend is a nurse (Czech working in Sweden) and the other day a Swedish male trainee nurse asked her if after completing his nursing training, if it was possible to do something like a 2 year course to then upgrade his qualification to become a Doctor

After all of her stories about the Swedish healthcare system I'm scared to ever be sick.

Once written Hoppy, it will forever be used against you.

This is a very good sailing forum and we try to keep it on topic. I did decide last year to open our own 'corner' by starting 'the Mallorca Squad and therefore we discuss stuff related to our personal meetups and likes. Praire is a professional pilot and Im an amateur so our discussions extend occasionally.
