LOL..That puts a whole new context to my next post "The Perky Perkins She's a doll"..

I hate crowds..I have never and will never take my kids to Disneyland..their on there own for stuff like that I'm afraid...World cup soccer crowds are my limit.

well.. it's funny, I've been a fair number of places and while I have been to Rio twice, it is one of the only places that I really didn't like... just had bad energy there... I can pretty much find a reason to enjoy anywhere I land, but not Rio, so we wouldn't be heading south for the Olympics... and while the ocean and harbours around Rio are breathtaking, I would not want to spend much time off my boat and would expect the marinas to be substandard and over priced, like most things in Rio... It's a pretty messed up place imo.

I should make clear that I am not reviewing Brazil here, ONLY Rio... Lots of other areas of Brazil are wonderful.

Wow - Similar thing at the 1984 LA olympics. I was a poor student and the only tickets I could afford were handball. Denmark vs. Sweden or something like that. Unfortunately, I could only afford the men's event. Needless to say even after watching them play I wasn't a convert to the sport.

In terms of absorbing the crowd most of LA didn't notice the extra people. The venues were scattered all over the LA basin and unless you were trying to find parking it was just another 20 MPH crawl along I-10. Unless you were going to watch handball. Then the parking was wide open as the massive crowd of 12 people filled the basketball arena at Fullerton Junior High School.

I think thats what Economists call a Free Market Economy....

The polution in Rio was astounding. But its only one city, worth a few days. But some of the other cities make the whole country well worth a good look

I have a friend who has just returned from Rio. He said the crime there was worse than anywhere in the US. Even Chicago. Said he would never go again, even on business. Robbed twice. Once in the airport by a pickpocket and once in a restaurant when they stole his briefcase.

FWIW, Chicago isn't really that dangerous (or maybe I'm just used to it)

Never been there but it appears Rio is a haven for trannies and street crime. What are good stops in Brazil for cruisers?

That would make the testing interesting at the games!
