My "Gifts"

So- our lawn service has turned out to be HORRIBLE! We have a tiny yard- service is in and out in 15 minutes- yet they have been here TWO weeks out of the last five. We live in Florida- and after 1 week the dog is hurdling through grass he can't see over to take a pee....
So i saiid to my husband- I will mow the lawn! This is ridiculous. When we leave in a couple years for two weeks or two months we will just get the service- but until then I can mow, hedge, edge, bag, etc.
My hubby went out and bought all new equipment for my new job today.
My presents for the year:

2003 Sun Odyssey 43 DS
Northern Lights 6KW generator
6 group 31 AGM batteries
1 Xantrex 3000w inverter/ charger
1 65lb Mantus anchor with bridle
21" self propelled Honda lawn mower
Toro blower/vac
Combo edger/ weed eater

Wait- I am also now in charge of the pool-- so in addition...

Intelliflo variable speed pump
A new vacuum for the pool-

And a roomba.

I am a lucky girl! ( and seriously I do think that- however when my husband points out all the neat stuff I got- and lists off inverters and lawn mowers- I just can't help but chuckle and get a big grin)

May every wife who wants to sail be so lucky...

Monica

Methinks it's hubby who's lucky. Buying those "gifts" would be asking for a divorce with some wives!

For the record, my wife and I tend to give each other gifts for the boat or the house, too.

Re: My "Gifts"

What sort of tiny yard needs a self propelled lawnmower? A tiny yard here would get an electric flymo...

:P

Re: My "Gifts"

In Florida, some people think 1/2 acre is small, others think 5 acres is small. All depends on your outlook. LOL Monica, you are a rare lady..... Happy sailing and oh, yard work, pool cleaning, laundry, cooking, cleaning, ect........

We have extremely thick grass ! Lol- and the idea is to get it done quickly to get out on the boat!

Thanks everyone!

Re: My "Gifts"

I'm on 740 acres here, that's considered tiny by the local farmers...

Now if you want easy-care... Just concrete the lot and paint it green
