How Much Effort Does It Take -

...for you all to sit behind the computer or whatever you might do all day knowing your baby is tugging at her lines on a beautiful summer afternoon? It takes everything I have most days to not quit the job, sell the house and just sail away. I think I need a vacation...

Done it a couple of times too. About ready again. I call it "island time". I think I spend too much time on this forum as it's a way of "being there".

Are you kidding... desktop backgrounds, ocean waves crashing on the beach background music, listen to Eric Stone on the way to work or home, taking the VHF portable to work with me listening for any chance or oportunity to check out and lend assistance to some vessel in need... LoL

Occasionally even adding a little too much salt to the swimming pool so it tastes more like the ocean....LoL

you get the picture... only 7 mths 23 days till cast off.

Coming home to the boat from the job makes it much easier. Move aboard!

I'll help you work on her if you want We are a very convincing tribe with a kid aboard and all -- makes it seem downright normal and cozy.

I would take all the help I can get. I will warn you though, it will be an up hill battle all the way. She comes from "Mountain Folk." Loves the mountains, streams, trees, etc., etc.

Then she would love the mountains, streams, and trees sitting above exotic beaches all over the world. My love is a mountain woman too, but she has grown to love cruising, and meeting new people.

I have to laugh, because she thought she would be captive on an ocean. Now she is just captivated by it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......i2f

i2f, you give me hope. You all do. I see you are in Northern Florida. My plan is to bring the boat down from NC to Jacksonville right after hurricane season. Maybe we can meet sometime and discuss your experiences. And when I say discuss, I mean relate that life on the water is like a slick magazine cover, near mountains.

Mt. Apo is in her backyard in the Philippines. It is over 10k ft. at the peak. That's Mel repelling, and up on the peak looking down. That's Mt. Apo from the beach on Samal Island where we redid our vows.

Just look at Hawaii as an example. The Pacific islands are pretty tall from volcanic actions. Deep forest on the older islands with rivers. This will be found everywhere in the Pacific. Possibly the best of both worlds for her, and you?.......i2f

P.S.,

That's Mt. Apo behind her in the avatar.....
