How about whittling a new cutlass bearing out of Lignum Vitae (Ironwood). I'll allow you a drill for this. Whittling the outside will be task enough.

For those of you who keep their dinks tied to the dock all the time, how about manufacturing a flexible bow that will arc between oar locks, and then hand sew a cover to keep the rain out of the dink. A draw string to tighten it under the rubbing strake would be nice. Bring an end to the endless biological experiments as they fill full of rain water, bird crap and living slime of unknown origins.

This one you could do in the garage, there by negating the loss of digits to the frost.
