I have a plaque on my boat that says " Like a woman the rigging costs more than the hull". So true. Like BB King sings " It costs two dollars to take her home, it cost two thousand to leave her alone."

one can replace the word wife with the word husband just as easily lol--boat doesnt sweat so much....... boat doesnt fart.... boat doesnt belch.....boat doesnt always find something else to do like watch tv.....boat doesnt say anything whenya go to the sporty car races and leave (it) home....doesnt demand the remote and surf channels.....doesnt come home drunk 3 days later ......lol.....and is always there to take ya sailing........

True, but:
Up in northern climes, most boats sweat.
Many boat (engines) fart & belch.

but the farting and belching from the engine seems to be of a productive nature rather than recyclement nature and therefore only smells of diesel, a positive thing.....sweating wont be a problem as i plan on cruising in warmer waters than those in which i have been residing, and i havent had a sweating problem from boat yet---doesnt smell like goat lol...when she takes my money she doesnt run home to mom or another woman and she is a gooood and stable partner and fairly predictable....lol.....doesnt take up all the bed or take half from middle lol.....lets me sleep with gentle motion.....isnt socially unacceptable or gross in public.....mom actually likes boat .......lol..doesnt leave clothing on the floor....knows how to ge tmy attention for important things and doesnt whine if i have too much wine lol......

as far as better than a dog---she doesnt have to be walked or trained lol...wont bite unless i mess up and hit something with my body parts lol....doesnt try to do tricks to entertain me......and doesnt eat me out of house and home lol....and with new perkins engine, purs like a snow leopard ......awesome......lol.....
