No Smoking,no drinking more than a few drinks- no shoes that mark up the deck, I explaine how to use the head-
SO far never had a clogged head-or trouble with anything, that I can recall- People come and all of them are there for a good time,so everyones on there best behavor

If I ever have need of an 8 page "summation" of guest expectations I'm not allowing/having anymore guests!

If I showed up on someone else's boat and they gave me 8 pages of rules I would be taking the ride back to shore!

I am amazed Don, AMAZED... I agree with you!

Guests are just that, if you need lists rather than just a walk around the boat explaining things, then they stop being guests and become visitors.

And I woud venture that if they are paying a per diem they are not guests but customers...

And if after one week of free cohabitation my girlfriend has to pay then she goes from what? Prostitute (paid for first week accomodation with companionship) to roommate? Cuz familiar sex ain't as valuable as new sex - confused...

And no offence but I certainly dont need a ride on a boat with 8 pages of rules. I can always go to prison if I need that kind of vacation...

My BIG one is NO FAT CHICKS.
Neither I nor my wife are skinny, but we don't have any "special" rules for getting on and off the boat nor dealing with when THTSHTF at 2am.

I could tell you stories about a few "guests" when we were in Mexico.
80 degrees and sunny with almost NO wind, but there were still "problems", and they all thought their special needs were perfectly normal.

If the rules dont fit on 1 a4 piece of paper there are too many rules.
8 pages? I would need to do a course or some type of exam after reading 8 pages.
In saying that you do need rules and most landlubbers just dont know any better.
No sooking kids is a great rule.

You are all a hard crowd .

That list was apparently created over 10 years / 80 guests - and is simply a collection of things that folk "got wrong" over the years.

What is obvious to "You" and "me" is probably different and what is ok on my boat could be bad form on yours (and vice verce), let alone for those unfamiliar with boats and / or staying aboard someone else's. How useful probably also depends on the nature of the guests.

Having said that, to my mind 8 pages does sound a lot! But really depends on what is on there - I suspect that for most the contents are not contentious (and largely "obvious"), but the value of it is mostly to make guests comfortable that they are on the same page....whether that be page 3 or page 8 .
