HELP... I can't find a suitable marina
Hello,
I am desperately trying to locate a liveaboard marina in the state of RI or possibly very far Eastern CT. Does anyone know of any place that is friendly in that area? I will be commuting to West Kingston from the boat for work.
Thanks all.
Sean

Re: HELP... I can't find a suitable marina
Go to Brewers Marina in West Brook and in a rented office there is Ted Novakowski who owns Sailing the Sound boat agency - Ted knows the area well and if there is a tiny place to keep it he will know and may be able to give you some thoughts

I suggest you start a thread of your own. Way more likely to get responses that way. Just as a precautionary note, most items at Home Depot are not suitable for a marine application. Everything you want is doable, if you have the budget and experience for it. Lay all that out in your own thread and folks will be happy to help.

Check ActiveCaptain.com for marinas, then check each marina's website, call, etc...

Hi Sean,
Not sure exactly what your problem is. I spent a summer in that same area and found dozens of marinas. Some were booked but found plenty with available slips. There are at least a dozen marinas around Warkwick and East Greenwhich, at least a dozen more around Watch Hill, more around Mystic and at least a dozen or so in between.
So is the issue they are all full, restrictions on live aboards or just too expensive. If the issue is expense then I can't offer much advice. I spent hours and hours looking for something I considered affordable in that part of the world and finally ended up on a mooring in Bristol RI.

Message to self. Don't look at the replies, always go back and check the OP.
