Snorkeling Business - Catamaran ?

Hey all,

I have been very interested in sailboats for quite some time and have recently found that I may be able to move to Maui, HI in about a year.

Since I was young I have always wanted to open a snorkeling tour business and feel that this is the perfect opportunity.

I have realized that it is quite profitable if you can find customers. I will be designing a website and fortunately my partner is in the hotel industry and can refer customers.

I want a large catamaran that can fit about 15 people. I am thinking a 47-60'.

Any suggestions or comments? What brand or boat would you recommend?

If its just day trips that you need to fit 15 on board then you dont need to go that big and there are a few on the market that are designed for "resort" work.

The charter catamaran market on Maui is overly saturated at the moment. Most boats are in the 50-65' range and take anywhere from 35 to 60+ passengers. There is one smaller catamaran company called Paragon. Your best bet would be to find a niche market that hasn't already been filled by the slick tourism fleecing machine that is Maui.
