Is this a crazy idea?

We are a married couple, and experienced boaters. Previous owners of a 38' Marine Trader which we sold a couple years ago. We don't currently have the time to devote to full time boating but would be interested in partnering with someone who would like to keep their Trawler (or "Trawler like" boat) docked and maintained at our Fort Lauderdale home in exchange for our occasional usage.

Also we would be open to swapping our waterfront pool home for usage of a Trawler located in a desirable location for a period of time (week/month). Last but not least, if someone is looking for crew to share expenses on a their boat for a week or so.

All the above would be contingent on a mutual meeting prior to and on a boat that is modern and in good condition. Anyone who has experience or ideas regarding above, we would like to hear from you!

Sounds like a good idea. I know there is an exchange for houses, condos, etc. I like the idea with careful screening of the parties involved. Ft. Lauderdale is a fun place to vacation and be on the water. Good luck.
