Beautiful! I was looking at the very same boat for later this year or maybe next. I'm based in Chicago. I would be very curious to know how you like it on Lake Michigan once you get out there this summer. Did you buy new or used? Also curious if you bought locally or are having your boat trucked in from somewhere else. Every day I couldn't sail a new boat like that would be agony for me. Summer definitely can't come fast enough.

She's a 2001 and we purchased her in South Haven, Michigan. We had planned on waiting at least 5 more years before getting one, but things just lined up right. Now we're very excited and a little nervous. I'll let you know how she does once we get her in the water.

South Shore mooring, Milwaukee on our Bristol 27. Mostly day sailing and hopefully a trip up to Door County this summer (if the snow ever melts).

We are normally in Harbortown K11 opposite Dockers - the home of free live music and unending entertainment thanks to tipsy power boaters.

Not much water in the marina last fall. I doubt we can get in. There was mud showing at the foot of the sheet-pile wall at Dockers. We may be on a mooring at Torresens - dunno.

We sail out of Saginaw Bay leading into Lake Huron stopping at least once a season in Tawas for a few days.

Many people say the great lakes are one of the best places to sail on the world. No salt water, no tides to deal with, but still big enough to take all day to cross width and several days lengthwise. If you want you can spend a life time gunk holing. We've be at it for over 25 years and haven't been close to seeing half of it. I would invite anyone to sail the Lakes if you get a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Just one happy sailor on the lakes.

+1 for the great lakes. I'm at the east end of Ontario at Prince Edward County, a day sail from the 1000 Islands and a great over nighter to Toronto.
If you can come sail for your self, it's so worth the trip

Agreed. I just wish the water didn't turn hard for 1/2 the year . Otherwise, we might never leave.

Actually, I am aware that some of you southern Lakes folks (Ontario, Erie and perhaps S. Michigan?) actually live on your boats year-round. Anybody know how possible it would be for a transient to do this -- say for one winter?

Toronto has more liveaboards, Bluffers I know for sure, and Kingston Marina does as well. Not sure on fees but a call would take care of that easy enough

Many Toronto area clubs and marinas have a few liveaboards.I'm sure you could set up an arrangement easily. The water does the hard thing here too, so bubblers are required.

But if you're going to sail all that way, I'd sail the extra 2000 miles to Florida and winter there.
