Yacht Club Burgee Identification

OK, all you eagle eyes out there. A friend gave me a plate with a yacht club burgee on it. Said the burgee was from a famous "New York Yacht Club." I don't think it is the obvious, the New York Yacht Club, although the colors are the same.

Can anyone identify this burgee?
