Re: Bikers on Board ?

FINALLY a thread I can contribute to... It's tough being a dirt stomper lurking in these parts...

Hoppy, I covet your ride through Italy. Hopefully someday you'll go visit the Guzzi plant on Lake Como.

I currently have two liter bikes. A 99 R1100S I "rode down to the crossroads" among many other places..

And a Buell XB (which has harassed MANY a Ducati in my beloved hills)

Here is my landlocked playground:

I've also been known to haunt tracks and take pictures:

Fer instance....

Geoff May Road Atlanta 08 riding for Jordan. (He's with EBR now)

Current defending US Superbike Champion Josh Hayes Road Atlanta 09.

VIR 07

Rebel Heart: That's a fine chunk O' ridin' in there. I wish lane splitting were legal in all 50. Here in Tennessee I'm just hoping they ban turn signals altogether as less than .05% of the population here seem to know what the "mystery stalk" on the left side of steering column is for!

Re: "Good" music. I don't know if it's good but it's mine and it's bike related:

If you're remotely a motorbike race geek, you should enjoy this:

SOUPKAST

But sadly..so far, this is as close as I can get to the Ocean!

Re: Bikers on Board ?

What's happening here?? This is starting to look like my ST-owners forum!

Yes, sailing and motorcycle riding (well I'll throw golf in there too) are some of my afflictions.

Two bikes actually:
-2008 Suzuki V-Strom 650 now sold
-2009 Honda ST1300

Safe Sailing & Riding my friends!

Re: Bikers on Board ?

There has always been a correlation between bikers and sailors. Independent spirit, self sufficiency, nomadic lifestyle, and the camaraderie between sailors is very close to the camaraderie between bikers.

I think one of the funniest bikes I helped put together was a 45 magnum. A 45 flathead bottom end , with an iron head sportster top end. I machined the cams and made the lifter blocks and lifters. We used two front heads and put dual carbs on it. Thing was wicked fast for a 60 inch motor. Definetly not one that blended in at the tavern.

Re: Bikers on Board ?

Yep, definitely a great little bar hopper. One of the local shops around here had a magnum trike. Used to win best trike every year at our bike show.
My 45 was the best dirt bike I ever owned.

Re: Bikers on Board ?

Started riding Speedway when I was 15 with an AJS 500 single,
Learnt to fall off before I could rise, Hahahaha

Ridden all types of bikes over the years.

!968 650 Bonnieville I bought brand new, and rode it for 17 years, Ending up fully chopped.

Did over a million miles on it, Magic machine,

The only Triumph that didnt leak oil, And it did have oil in it,

Got divorced, so the triumph went, Forced sale,

Then I bought my current bike for my 60th birthday for me,

I have done 60,000 Klms on it in four years,

Last year I didnt ride as I lost my licence for eight months, Accumulated points,
Then I rode it for one day and then left to pick up my Gemini in Fiji and was gone 3 months, bringing my boat home,

So a whole year of not riding,

2 year old bike with 354 klms on the clock, Demo, 2006 model. Bought it in 2008,

The Whispering Death,

Honda Super Blackbird, 1100XX, in the fastest Silver,

Heather rode a 2009 Hyosung 250 Aquila Cruiser, But sold it due to lower back pains,

So I have just bought a ZR7 750 Kwaka, Hopefully she can ride that, with out pain,

No I cant get my Bird on the Gem, But the kwaka might be the go,

Cheers,
Brian,
