need a marina in punta gorda area

Hi there folks, well I finally bought a sailboat in the punta gorda area and need to put it in a marina until hurricane season is past. Having pretty poor luck finding any open space from the end of august on. Getting a little worried. Anybody have any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks!

I guess you tried the Municipal Marina @ Laishley Park

I had a boat there a few years ago. Great people, great sailing location, great value

I would go I over in person. See Ray if he is still there he is the best

Burnt Store Marina is huge and somewhat protected but I have not been there in many years.

Check Craigslist. There are many docks available behind homes in the canals

Lots of empty slips in Burnt Store. Don't know if reserved, call them.
Laishley has a short bridge so check mast height.

I spent a couple of weeks at Burnt Store and enjoyed it. They are a Safe Harbor operation. Nice spot with restaurant and convenience store but a drive up to Punta Gorda or the other direction to Cape Coral.

I’m in Burnt Store Marina. I’m not there now but last month there were slips available. Reasonable amenities, good folks. Not too expensive. Good luck

Re: need a marina in punta gorda area

I keep my boat at Fisherman's Village during the winter but us usually filled up during that season. They probably have room in late summer and if you dock they might find you a place for the winter if you wanted to stay.

I spent a couple of seasons at Burnt Store. Not a bad walk to the showers/restrooms if you are in the south basin and reasonable parking. North basin can be a hike and parking is very limited. They have pump out facilities at the dock and one day a week they do the whole dock.

As has been said, Walmart, Home Depot facilities are about 9 miles
