Republic of Ireland Courtesy Ensign

Hello, am considering a trip to the republic of Ireland. I am wondering which courtesy flag to fly? Is it the tricolour or do they have a marine ensign?

In the Republic of Ireland, the courtesy flag is the tricolour. I saw no marine ensign.

I'm Irish so I guess I could answer this one we don't have a marine ensign so if you fly the tricolor it is perfectly good.

I'm sure you know this but I have seen people get our tricolor mixed up with the Italian flag it does make for some strange looks at some yacht clubs

Cote d'Ivoire flag:

Compared to this, the Italian flag's a doddle.

I think one could only give offense while in reverse.
