Customs Decal Placement

Hi Everyone,

I have 2 questions - first, I received my customs decal today and the instructions for placement are as clear as mud. I have a sailboat,
aft cockpit and boarding can be done from anywhere on the boat-
Where do I place the decal ???
Also, I have read about the 'local boaters option' in other forum
questions, Can anyone tell me what this is and how do I sign up for it ?
thanks
- Bob

I put mine next to the companionway. They never check the location anyway. You call in with your number and that's that.

Ours is on the SS runner base outside of the center cockpit.

I've been told by the Lady Customs Official that it should be in the cockpit next to the gangway.

I paint my cockpit every couple of years so I've put them in a clear plastic envelope and hang them next to the gangway when needed. So far, no complaints.
