Yard in Key West capable of changing a Cutless Bearing

Is there a yard/individual with this capability in Key West?

I'm looking for a haul-out and a hand with changing it out. This one is internal, not external, and will entail dropping the keel to get the prop off.

Just trying to figure out what my options are.

lol

Sorry, meant to type "drop the rudder". It's just behind the shaft/prop. The boat's not that bad a design! You can see that I'll be needing some help...

changed mine last month and wasn't that hard. Removed prop and two set screws used a piece of pipe to drive bearing out onto shaft then cut old bearing off of shaft. Pretty much any boat yard should be able to perform task if you're not up to it.

I guess I'm more looking for a reasonable place to do it. I'll have to get the boat hauled, and I'd like to get it done as quickly as possible.

Just so you know, there's a way to replace a cutlass bearing without removing the prop, shaft, or anything. They did ours 3 weeks ago, for about $200, including the new bearing. Our boat was out for a bottom job at the time, so the haul was already done. Here's a link to a company that makes the tool: Home

That can only be done with the bearing in the strut. That tool will not remove a bearing from the shaft log.

You might try Robbie's boat yard/marina on Stock Island. Its been a long time since I was there but they (used to) employ capable staff and they have a lift.

Boatpoker is correct. The bearing isn't in an external strut, it's internal. I'll check out Robbie's.

We've always been happy with 3D boatyard on Stock Island. We changed our cutless bearing last time we were in there. Their phone number is 305-294-0808 if you're interested.
