Wooden Hull - Question on dampness

Thanks again all, I have taken your advice and installed a backing plate for the new sea-cock installation using G10 fibreglass board 140mm x 140mm and epoxied it to the wooden hull ready for the slip in a month or so - it fits just between two ribs and straddles all of one board and 1/2 inch of the next - whilst doing the pre work for the installation I noticed that the hull boards were damp so I heat dried it somewhat and while doing so noticed moister seeping out of the boards - is this normal or do I have soaked boards - the second question is that by epoxying a solid piece of fibre glass and making the area of 140mm x 140mm like steel will this stop the boards from flexing and cause damage to the structure ?? - any suggestions and comments ?? - MVR
