Repairing Luff of Furling Headsail

I cut off a foot or so of halyard today to get rid of some frayed wire, swaged it (don't know if that's the right term) and ran the sail back up. It was pretty windy and in wrestling the sail up I put a short tear - a couple of inches - in the luff. It's in the wrap and doesn't go through. I'm looking for suggestions on how to repair this?
