Powerwinch free fall windlass

I'm finishing up the details on a two year project rebuilding an O'day 39 O'day 39 project boat - Page 8 - SailboatOwners.com

I'm planning to install a power winch free fall 41 on the boat. The oday locker would be better served with a vertical windlass but the powerwinch seams to fit OK. I'm surprised by the size of the electrical leads, they look like 12 gage. The info says it will winch at 75 ft/min. I'm thinking this may be unloaded.

I'm check with you guys as you saved my butt when one of you caught my bad installation of the vent filter on the holding tanks. It would have certainly plugged as it was a few inches from the tank.

any comments on the windlass??

We have been using our for a couple of years and a couple of thousand miles. It works great and we have had no issues. The Trawler Beach House: Installing An Electric Anchor Windlass . Chuck
