Martyr Zincs CMC04

Does anyone know about the beads inside these zincs? I bought one because the store was all out of normal barrel zincs and only had these. The beads seem to protrude enough to damage the shaft... or are they soft enough to retract on tightening. Or are they made to fit notches in a shaft?

The one I have seems to extrude more than the website image.

Thanks.

They’re soft copper to ensure good electrical contact with the shaft. They’re in no way going to damage the shaft. I’ve been using them for years, every time they’re removed the beads are flattened.

Indeed.
CMP/Martyr anodes enjoy the highest reputation, in the industry.

Bwahahahaha! Not even close.

In my opinion, shaft anodes should be manufactured to close enough tolerances (and most are) that something additional like a brass BB to increase connectivity should not be necessary. That Martyr feels the need to do this says a lot, IMHO. But they are made in China, after all.

Could you recommend better brands?
