Looking for Ideas for Cockpit Shade

Bimini is not a good option...boom is too low. I'm thinking of a tent type thing for when at anchor or in the slip. Only trying to make shade from the mast back over the cockpit. Pictures of your setup would be great.

A $10 white tarp (UV resistant coating) with a line at each corner is my solution.

Our boat has an enclosed aft deck. It always seems the afternoon sun follows exactly where I prefer to sit making it very uncomfortable.

My quick solution was to take a 4X5' piece of Sunbrella..because I had it, and just clip it to the existing canvas work. It acts like a large vertical wall between me and the sun. The clips are those found at Home Depot for about a buck.

Ours is basically a tarp. This one was purpose-made, but any old nylon tarp would work.
