Locker Paint

The paint in the exterior lockers on my boat is latex and it is flaking off. I want to scrape and sand as much of it off as I can and something new applied. Bilgekote would seem to work but pricey as this is a very large area. I am thinking of grey garage floor one-part epoxy paint. Any reason I should avoid this?
Thanks

Re: Locker Paint

Arghh... someone put latex in there? Not very sandable. I guess at this point I would put super high quality exterior latex back in. It's nice and thick and does last years in the sun. Latex doesnt adhere like "real" paint, but I think putting epoxy over latex is asking for trouble..... I think you can get somewhat of a gloss in trim aint, talk with a real paint shop....

Re: Locker Paint

I've had good results using rusoleum oil based grey for the bilge/lockers, etc.....As near as I can tell it smell, acts, and dries just like bilge coat!!
