Kicker Motor

Any reason a kicker motor can not be place directly behind the rudder providing it can be raised out of the way while under sail.

No reason that I know of as that is where my 9.9 lives on my Grampian 26. You don't get the benefit of the prop wash against the rudder blade to aid in steering so it can be a bit exciting when manouvering at low speed.I should add that my motor is fixed fore and aft and I steer using the tiller only.
