No, created a rebate in the mold so window was flush. We found deck mold in a paddock so was easy to do during its refurbishment.

Now to reply to the post. Why replace the windows with acrylic? The life of acrylic is around 7-10 yrs and can be affected by different chemical.

Boat manufacturers these days have switched to toughened glass. Surely that is the way to go?

Because leaks are timeless, otherwise they would have dissappeared long ago. Generally, with time, you leak more often , from multiple sources, a curmudgeon once informed me.
As for toughening, I guess you need to be tough to be old, as I am discovering.

Leaks may be timeless but adhesives are evolving.

I used 295 out in the Caribbean for the growing gap under the large curved windows on old Fountaine Pajot. Could not sneak the primer under the lense, and did not know about the need anyway. The 295 did not stick to the acrylic.
