Dome Light Socket Repair

I need a source for the bayonet socket in several dome lights. It seems that the socket is first to go, followed by the switch. These should be easy to repair if I could just find the parts. It is a shame to have to throw away the whole unit when a small part could make it functional again. I need the bayonet socket only, not the light bulb. Has anyone found a vendor?

Re: Dome Light Socket Repair

Dome light Brand?

I replaced a few in my boat with some generic sockets from Hamilton Marine but lately I have replaced them with G4 sockets to make it easier to convert to LED.

Re: Dome Light Socket Repair

We've switched a few lights to led strip lights and have done away with the domes altogether. You can cut them to length and they provide a nice even glow... Plus we can change them to any color we wish, dim them, etc.

One downside is that they use a bit more power than the led dome lights. While one set of strip lights that light the whole inside of the boat evenly use about 3 Amps, this is 3 amps less than two halogen lights.
