Construction Materials

Hi

I'm intrigued by the various construction materials available to build yachts with. Does anyone know of a list (something like a wikipedia article) on the pros and cons of all the different options.

My basic understanding is this:

1. Wood.
2. Steel
3. GRP
4. Ferro Cement
5. Aluminium
6. Carbon Fibre
7. Plastics.

I'm particularly interested in plastics so any further reading in this regard would be appreciated.

Wood or this one
Steel or Aluminium
Plywood
Plastics

That should get you started.
