Cockpit Table Doesn't Fit

I foolishly had not measured the distance between the grab bars on my pedestal before I went to the boat show last week and purchased a new cockpit table there. Turns out that the table was designed for the "standard" 9 1/2 inch size. I went to the boat today to install it only to discover that the gap I have is 11 inches not the "standard" 9 1/2 inches Before I bring this table back for a refund, I thought I would ask the group whether anyone out there has successfully rigged up an adapter for this ? I do like the table.

Pictures would help. it may be as simple as reinstalling each of the mounting brackets 3/4" outboard.

Breeze if the bracket is like mine remove it cut it i half ad a mounting hole to each piece then reinstall at proper width for your pedastal brecket. Apic would help. Red
