Cleaning Interior FG

My 35 year old FG yacht needs a clean up. The interior gelcoat surfaces (cabin liner and moulded furniture) are basically sound and relatively unmarked, but the years have left them a dirty-looking non-white colour.

What is the best way to restore them to a nice uniform white?

I will also like to know. Sorry I can't help you - I tried everything nothing worked. The PO was a smoker, so the once white liner was almost brown. I ended up having to sand with 100 grit, primed and painted. Looks nice now.

Mr clean magic erasers and your favourite spray cleaner... it takes a bit of scrubbing and I would buy the bulk packs, but it is nothing short of amazing

they are these slow disolving white sponges that must full of some pretty amazing chemicals... but they do a really good jon on gel coats

Scrub Free Mildew Remover. No other brand will work. Aggressive - don't use around fabrics or finished wood. $1.99 a bottle at Walmart. It must be this brand and have "Mildew" on the bottle. Makes a dock locker look like new. Test a small area first, and be sure to rinse well. For our cabin liner, I spray onto a cloth, wipe it on, then wipe off with another wet cloth. Great Stuff.

I used that stuff. Marine section. Pretty good, but not exactly scrub free. I am remembering a higher price. About 7 bucks a bottle. Can't buy an empty bottle in the travel section for two bucks anymore.

interior fg is easily cleaned with vinegar. in solution with water or straight, for hard to clean stains. is also great on mirrors and windows. cheap and easy. does not hurt fg and does not need to be rinsed.

casual--no residue. it also kills mold. good cleaner on a boat without ruining the interior. and if you use too much soap in a cleaning--add a little vinegar into rinse water--it will cut the soap. will not hurt anything.
