The made up sole material is veneer teak with veneer holy inserts. The veneer is, of course quite thin. If the 1/8" material veneer is the same thickness as the thicker sole material it wouldn't matter and you might be able to laminate it to your existing sole, losing an i/8" (raising the top of the sole). You don't throw away the old sole. You have templates to use for cutting the new laminate and you save money
