Beckson Opening Port

Does anyone have any experience installing a Beckson Opening Port like this:

Beckson Newport Port

We've got rain coming next week and I'd like to replace a leaking portlight with a new one before it hits.

I have three main requirements:
1) It opens
2) Its not too expensive
3) Seaworthy

My main concern with this portlight is that it sounds like I'll need to drill holes around the main opening, rather than having the inner trim clamp the outer shell (like my current design and some of the more expensive replacements I've looked at). The brief description of this process sounded slightly tricky (getting the holes to line up properly).

There is nothing to really line up. I have installed them, they are very sturdy and tough. You simply drill from inside to outside thru the trim ring, and bolt together. You can easily trim the spigot flush with the outside using a band saw.

I agree. Did 6 of these last year. Use tape to mask off the outside when the silcone squezzes out. Go to the Beckson web site and check the overstock section. I picked mine up for $40/ea. They were overruns. One of the better buys I made. Followed the directions for installation and no leaks.

We're doing 6 of these as well in a couple weeks. On order from the overstock section at $40 per. Can't beat it!
