Hi Amy. Where have you been? I've missed your blog updates. You must be living aboard now and in the water?

I don't think I'll work in the dead of winter. It'd cost a small fortune to heat the tent. I've got a few indoor projects, new dash pane & gauges etc. to keep me busy over the long dark cold winters! Brrrrrrr, I shudder just to think about it. Thanks for reminding me!

I wont launch mine untill next spring. Been living aboard since Easter and just love the space and layout, its pretty much perfect for what I want. Galley layout is a triangle between the cooker, sink and fridge. Bathroom is big enough now ive got used to it and the bedroom is the nicest ive ever had. Still need to finish furnishing the saloon but now the nights are pulling in and getting cooler, ive had to light the stove several times and there is nothing more comfy than being snugged up.
Stayed at Moms a month ago and the 8' high ceilings freaked me. What a waste of space. Im always thinking about water and electric consumption, but isnt that what we should all be doing?

Ive still got a lot of engine room stuff to do, but even though ive had a few wobbles, this is the best decision ive made in a long time. Life is good.

I had to stand on tippy toes on the ladder to even see this much.

I've been battering and bruising my shins on the strongback and step ladders for a month now. Finally smartened up and got myself a cheap pair of shin pads.



My friend Peter is launching his Bolger Windemere (Estuary Cruiser) he's built tomorrow so there likely won't be any work done till Saturday.

Hmmm. There seems to be some sort of club for people who build boats in tents.

The Bolger looks just like the Victorian built, steam powered lake district style boats. I hope its full of teak,copper and brass.

Yes. It's called "The Loyal Order of the Laughing Polar Bear" club and you have to have a special hat to identify a member.

When last I saw the boat, in December I think, it was still pretty far from finished inside. I'll post some pics after tomorrow's launch.
