Yamaha 8C Outboard motor

I would appreciate having help with a motor problem. Motor is 5yo ,new plugs , new fuel , carby clean,seems good compression. I'd give it 80% looks like new !
Has rarely missed a beat but will not start today ! Fuel ,running through lines and filter ,plugs wet after a lot of cranking.Have tried closing plug gap but no effect . When I clean plugs it seems to fire on first pull but won't catch and never fires again until re- cleaned plugs.
Currently in remote area , limited technical knowledge. Do have a multi-meter. Can I use the m/meter to check quality of spark ?
