combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine?

Someone had the great idea of putting a high-pressure, heat-resistant camera inside the cylinder of a four-stroke engine. Shooting at 1000 fps, the camera recorded just exactly what happens to make engines run. Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow!

Very cool. I saw a similar video many years ago in my training. Technology was not quite the same back them, so the engine had to be really big. The mounted the camera in a Big Cat Deisel enigine. What I was most impressed with, was the extreme working heats that the components were under. Something not shown in the above clip. I was stunned at the fact that the exhaust valves were operating while actually white hot.

That is very cool!

Reminiscent of the old Smokey Yunick spintron videos... just this is with real fire in the hole!
