Volvo Penta Md2040b Tachometer
My tachometer has stopped working can any one help?

They do that. Regularly!

I see you also have alternator problems. Tacho is driven off the alternator. I'd sort out the alternator first before worrying about the tacho.

Our tach crapped out at 1000 hrs (westerbeke 30b-three). I thought that was a strange thing to go, but apparently it's pretty common.
