Mack Boring Diesel Maintenance Seminars

The winter-spring schedule of Mack Boring & Parts Company’s popular Marine Diesel Maintenance Seminars brings the classes to four regional locations. Beginning in January, seminars will be given in Wilmington, N.C., Middleborough, Mass., the Great Lakes and at the company’s Union, N.J., headquarters.

Re: Mack Boring diesel maintenance seminars

I just got back today from taking the 3 day course at Mack Boring in Wilmington NC. It really is worth it's weight in gold. The Yanmar in our boat has always been the one piece of gear that was somewhat mysterious to me. Not anymore. The instructor, Larry Berlin, has been with Mack Boring for 42 years and I would be very surprised if there is a question he can't answer. If you want to understand your engine and how to keep it running then take this course. Jim

Re: Mack Boring diesel maintenance seminars

For those who've taken the 3 day class, would you see as much value in attending if you didn't have a Yanmar (i.e. aux power was a Westerbeke, Volvo, Perkins, etc)?

I imagine most of the content is vendor neutral (diesel is a diesel), but curious as to your thoughts.

Re: Mack Boring diesel maintenance seminars

There were people that owned different models. The instructor (larry) was able to answer all questions by everyone in the seminars I took

The content is yanmar-centric, but it is generic enough that it is valuable to owners of all makes
