Re: It worked ... was it supposed to?

Kurlie, I expect that they will post to our cousins across the ditch (NZ) but just in case they don’t get in touch with me and I’ll get one locally and then send it on. Oh and if you have any questions about installation, setup etc ( it’s pretty straight forward though) again, happy to help. Cheers, Chris.

Thanks for the offer Chris. I have been in touch with Phillip Welch at Medex who is a fellow boatie and very helpful. He is organising a unit for me.
All very helpful suggestions here - a great forum

Seems to suggest that it has been tested by Practical Sailor and is safe to use but not as effective as Rydlyme
Hydrochloric acid 50/50 mix with water, let sit in the engine 10/15 minutes max, rinse and repeat, good as gold.Flush with raw water.

Re: It worked ... was it supposed to?

Hi ,
Had a similar problem with the same engine years ago .
To make a long story short it was a coked up Exhaust manifold that restricted flow and gave the impression that the brass exchanger was clogged up .
Worth checking ( we replaced the gooseneck type one for the straight through version .
End of problem . Hope this helps
