diesel air intake boost on Perkins 4108

I have investigated the properties of increased air intake by using a booster on the intake of diesel engine. It appears to help if done correctly.

Has anyone augmented the diesel engine aspiration via a booster fan?
If so what system was used?
Any down side?

mine comes direct from the factory like that!

though having a turbo on a cruising yacht engine is not allways a good idea,as the engine is often run at low revs for fuel conservation,resulting in carbon clogging the exhaust,and other associated problems.

though a good supply of fresh air is allways a good idea for any engine
