Well im spending the hurricane season in grenada, the engine ran almost 2 or 3 times at week , i leave the raw water valve on, heat exchanger , coolant, cap, hoses , etc... oil coolers checked last year , no isues, i open the header tank cap and the coolant is green in color and smell oh well , coolant, the fact is , the other day something lame happen, again i start the engine and seem to me the flow of water stop for some seconds, i think maybe because the pump need to feed for some seconds before trhowing water out, and looks like maybe maybe he suck something , idk, anyway the engine run super, yes Target good idea, im going to take a bucket and see next time i start the engine and trying to figurate whats going on.. thx mates.

Btw, did you check you water lift? Maybe something's in there.

Sorry , it mean i dont know, the water lift is fiberglass , i remove a small plug in the bottom , and a mix of black water pour from the plug. I think is normal.. Cheers.

Well, that's the stuff that'll come out the back as soon as you start her up, so if that's normal, what are you complaining about?

I don't think it's normal for mine, but I'll check and get back to you...

I believe the black water at the water lift is carbon and particles resting at the bottom coming from the combustion process, the other idea coming to my mind is some kind of deterioration at the exhaust hose , maybe some delamination inside , the hose is wire reinforced, so maybe a piece of wire rusted inside, this engine always run fine, so next project check the hose,, ....
