Yamaha 9.9 Throttle and Gear cable adjustment guide?

Hi,

does anybody have a detailed guide as to how best to finetune the throttle and gear cables on a Yamaha 9.9 2015 twin installation?
I have an issue with that the gear does not want to engage by remote.

The leaver is a combined twinflex model for both engines together.

Thanks so much for your help. Fiddled around already for some time but with limited success...

Here the control model I have.

By the way I can engage the gear by pushing the lever directly at the engine.
The cables are definitely okay as well. checked them already.

I'm not familiar with that model but I just converted my Y9.9 to the 703 remote. At the engine connection the cables have to be adjusted just right for the gears and throttle to work. Mine were high idling/revving on the first try. Try adjusting those nuts on the cable at the engine. If the cable isn't exactly putting it in neutral then you can't shift.

Re: Yamaha 9.9 Throttle and Gear cable adjustment guide?

Thanks.

We tried that for hours.
Yesterday then I had a mechanic here, who was puzzled as well and also tried this way for some time.

Then he resorted to another option which solved it.

About halve way down the leg there are two screws in the front.
Loosen the small one and adjust the big one carefully.

All good now.
