RIP Ian Farrier

According to a post in another forum Ian Farrier has passed:

"It is with a heavy heart that I tell you Ian Farrier passed away in San Francisco on his way back from the USA yesterday. We are in deep shock as we come to terms with the huge loss of our captain, and our focus is on Ian’s immediate family and the Farrier Marine team.

Ian was a visionary, a multihull genius, an all-round nice guy who leaves behind a huge legacy to the sailing world.

Farrier Marine Limited is a strong business with a three year order book for the revolutionary F-22 sailboat. Despite dealing with our grief, it is very much ‘business as usual’ at the factory today. It is our job now to carry on the Farrier legacy and ensure his vision is carried out. – Rob Densem."

I have heard that his F27 is the only multihull that has been elected to the USA sailing hall of fame. His willingness to respond to questions about Farrier and Corsair trimarans to complete strangers on several forums seemed like he was a personal friend and mentor to get the most out of our boats. I will miss his advice and presence. I love my Corsair 31.

Wow, so sad, a legend in the multihull world. Condolence's to his family and friends, a great loss to the sailing world in general.

Such sad news. He was so kind and generous with his time when we were contemplating building his F32AX. A real loss to the multihull industry.

Sad news, all my condolences to the family, RIP.
I exhanged a few mail with him, thinking about an F32/33 and got the study book.
