I doubt the cost will bother anyone who is in the market for a 1.5million dollar boat.

But, Boatworks at the Gold Coast has a sealift, and is actually one of the cheaper places in Aus to slip a boat.

When I first saw the NEEL 45, I thought, wow is that ugly. But now I have come to love its look. There are some good youtube videos of the 45 sailing and a complete tour of the interior. Seems like a great boat. Absolutely innovating with the weight low in the center vs. a catamaran that has 2 heavy hulls. It seems like the NEEL 45 will smoke comparable catamarans in lighter air. And he reverse bows help with the pitching.

I guess the question becomes whether the 60 is true to the performance concept of the 45? Or is it just an overloaded pig? If the larger size can absorb the accommodations proportionally to the 45, it would be one fantastic performance boat with an incredible layout.

I give it a thumbs up so far....

I think really cool boat. Don't know how it could be considered ugly compared to most cats on market. Tris will be much faster than most catamaran that can't fly a hull. Owning a monohull and not loving engine maintenance, 1 central engine + a thruster sounds nice.

Plus, the difference in helm feel and sail trim, especially in light wind, when the boat heels 5 degrees and flies an ama, would be dramatic. No driving a bus sensation here...

But, I am short a mil and change.....

I think the Neel Trimaran is a break through in design. Bit like the searunner. most people cannot see the wood through the trees' but this Neel is smart smart smart. Its not ugly its futuristic and user friendly and a sailing machine. I believe it is the first inside layout that is better than a catamaran. finally it does make sense from 45ft.

The 2 major design flaws with the N45 & N50 are the almost total absence of a bimini and the totally exposed helm. Could we have just a little shade?

I think in most passages one would be on auto. and the navstation undercover with good visuals are a new way of driving the boat. Outside is for docking or in a busy area and the 360 view is unimpeded. This is not about helming its about enjoying the go forward and the luxury. On passage it works as it would also on the anchor. More shade could be easily achieved if you are of need in mid Latitudes.

What gets me is that a bimini is not an integral part of the design like just about every cat made. People like this feature and spend most of their time there. Any retrofit looks like it would be awkward.

Its the new way. the integral design giving some shade is enough. If you want to be in complete freedom you can stand at the wheel.. sounds strange but this is the new way.

How do you haul it with a rail? With a cat you support it between the hulls. Can't really do that with this thing.

In their boat show videos, the boat has a soft bimini. I think the idea is to reduce the weight of the boat (that's also why it doesn't have wood paneling inside). You can see the bimini here and here.

I love this boat!! I hate the style of the interior of their main display boat, but fortunately there are different color schemes available. I would like to see a bit more cabinetry though; there is certainly space for it. However, that could probably be easily custom added.
