Live aboard marina east central Florida?

This is awesome, it seems it's totally doable and I am not so afraid of the wives tails I've heard and I can actually dock "somewhat" central Florida...?!

Sounds like a sweet plan. I would suggest getting on a few 40-50ft. cats. For a couple, a 45ft Catamaran is a lot of boat. A 40ft cat is a lot of boat. Good luck.

Captlloyd I thought the same thing, I've actually been eyeballin' a 47' for that exact reason. We'd like a lot of living space but God only knows what we'd do with all those bedrooms not to mention as you'd said we should get something we can handle easily. We are definitely going to try before we buy though.. (:

Possibly rent a slip at Cocoa Viilage. They're all owned, but occasionally there's an owner willing to rent.

I would suggest you call both Fort Pierce City Marina and Harbortown Marina. Both are relatively reasonable for mono's, I can't speak for cats because I don't have one. We did our haulout and reconstruction at Riverside just North of Ft.Pierce. However, I'm not sure they can handle a big cat!

Thank you I will and am super excited to do so, as far as the big cat is concerned I posted us presumably getting a 45-60' cat knowing 60' is outrageous, I was simply trying to get the idea out there of the amount of dockage we may require (on the high end.) Realistically we're looking to get a 39'-55' cat for comfort, manuverability, and practicality.

You might want to check out Halifax Harbor marina in Daytona Beach, Florida. It is convenient to Daytona, Sanford-Orlando and Orlando international. I have lived aboard there and have known air line pilots who lived aboard in that marina. It is well protected, modern, convenient to shopping and marine services. Check out fort pierce. The city marina allows liveaboards an the town is wonderful. We are looking to buy a condo or home there. Spent 2 weeks their last winter a month this winter anvarecheadingvback for another couple weeks in April so our kids/grandkids can be there for spring break . I honestly feel you might like it so much you never make it to the bahamas.

Take a look at Vero Beach. A great town and lot's of experienced cruisers to learn from.

Not to put a et blanket of Vero, because it is beautiful town, however, it is a very long way in either direction to get to a good inlet, Ft. Pierce is right on one of the best on the coast of Florida!

Lesterbutch I had a hunch but I wasn't sure about that (reason for my post.) I'm now confident that Ft. Pierce is as far north as I'm willing to attempt a crossing, because of all the amazing people here helping me out.. I was reading another post of someone that was sailing south can't remember exactly from where but it said something along the lines of it taking 7-8 hours so I pulled up my maps and it was like a 20 minute car ride, yikes lol. Obviously, those numbers are circumstantial but it sure scared me straight. I've got lots of learning to do.. You all make it a lot easier and I can't thank you enough...
