Furuno auto pilot on FP Eleuthera

I have a 2011 Fountaine-Pajot Eleuthera 60, ;ast one of the model line to leave the yard at FP. Once you leave FP it is hard to get advice from them and after seven years even more.
Problem auto pilot can't read the heading sensor, ergo; no instruments and I'm not near any Furuno technician, I have located some of the components but can't trace the lines all the way, fuses??.....If any one out there has an Eleuthera 2011 or 10 and knows the schematic of how the instruments are placed/clustered, would be most appreciative so that I may trace the problem myself.
Thank you in advance
Carlos

Re: Furuno auto pilot on FP Eleuthera

Hi Carlos. I met you and your wife in Georgetown Yacht Basin when I bought my Salina. Hope all is well.

I think by 2011 FP had gone to Garmin for most models as the factory option, so they may not be much help. Did Uchimata install yours?

I have Furuno on my boat as well. My autopilot computer is located in the bottom of a cabinet in the starboard owners cabin. The compass is located in the furthest forward cabinet in the same cabin. I'll be back at the boat next week and can look for the fuses etc. There is an Eleuthera in my marina but I haven't met the owner yet. If he happens to be there I will ask him as well.

If you haven't joined the FP owners facebook group, be sure to do that. Lots of smart people on there.

Re: Furuno auto pilot on FP Eleuthera

Good to hear from you, is your boat at Georgetown now?
I don't know who installed the Furuno electronics but is worth an e-mail to contact them, I'm sure it's located under my nose but I can't find it.
All is well with us, hope the same with you and to see you soon again.

Re: Furuno auto pilot on FP Eleuthera

We moved the boat to West Palm Beach. It was a great 1000 mile shake down cruise. I'll be back at the boat on the first, and I'll take a pic of the compass so you know what you're looking for. I'll also dig through the manual to see what the schematic looks like. I suspect the compass is powered by the autopilot.

It should be pretty obvious. Start looking by your autopilot controller. It's a smallish round instrument with one wire going into it and is screwed to a bulkhead. The fuses are located under the main cover of the AP controller.

FP has always gotten back with me, it just takes them several months.

Re: Furuno auto pilot on FP Eleuthera

Thanks Palarran, I found all the items, the controller on my boat is actually a square box about 12x12 and there are fuses under the main cover, big square ones that don't want to come out.
Now that I know where all the components are I will give Furuno another call and see if they have any ideas.
