Re: Fishing Boat with no Lights in the night

Was on a speed boat at night with no moon and heavy cloud cover doing about 30mph. What we couldn't see was another speed boat on a collision course at our 12 oclock heading right for us. We finally saw him at the last second when he decided to turn on his running lights. Luckily we both turned right and missed him by what seemed to be inches (probably 10's of feet) but it scared the crap out of all of us

Re: Fishing Boat with no Lights in the night

Happens here in daylight & fog. No lights, chimes, fog signals, AIS & sometimes on auto pilot with no watch. Glad to have the dual 180 db air horns & radar. (Great Lakes)
