Dean 400

Hello!

I have found Dean 400 on the web. This cat looks interesting and I wonder if somebody at Cruisers Forum have something to say about the Deans. Quailty, performance, safety, accomodation etc...
We are planning to have a year or two at sea, my wife and two small kids.

Factor, I'm a mono hull sailor and not experienced in multihulls yet. Can you please explain what you mean with bridgedeck clearance? I think I have a clue, but...

distance between the surface of the water and the underside of the boat in between the hulls. Here's a cat with excellent bridgedeck clearance... Mine!!

you should have at least 70% of the length of your cat. So if the cat is 40 feet it should be at least 28 inches in height. The Dean 400 matches and beats this number. It is also much higher in the front 5 or so feet and in the back at least 3 1/2-4 feet.
