Crowther Buccaneer Trimarans.

Hi folks,
As many of you who visit other forums would know, the multihull enthusiasts over at Boat design.net have been searching the planet for the Buccaneer 28 plans, these have been found, scanned and put online for all here,
MediaFire - Online Space for your documents, photos, videos, and music.

The 24' plans are also available by contacting "oldsailer7"

I am now seeking plans and instructions for the Buccaneer 33'
If you have a set of these plans I will pay any costs associated with scanning/copying, postage and the plans will be posted on the web for all and sundry.
There are no copyright issues as the designer is deceased.
Cheers,
RR

I thought Lock's son Brett would have carried the copyright?

Twiggy design was the GO!!!

Cheers

Re: Crowther Buccaneer Trimarans.

Brett has been contacted many times regarding his fathers work and has shown no interest whatsoever in his Locks legacy, this aspect has been well investigated which is why the other plans are available.
The Twiggy is a beauty, I probably should ask for any Crowther trimaran plan sets shouldn't I !

Re: Crowther Buccaneer Trimarans.

Ian who owned Twiggy was a mate of mine, i made the new mast fittings before he headed off to the UK to do the 'Round Britain' record sadly losing her in the attempt.

Staminade etc soon followed with Cathy Hawkins his crew.

Maybe Brett just concentrates on the commercial side whereas Lock's initial bread and butter was yachts.

Be nice to collect the lot he had ground breaking concepts my favourite 'Shotover' a powerful sheerline that gave anyone helming her complete confidence i remember her record breaking Brisbane to Gladstone as a highlight, the finishing boats not able to keep up with her as she sailed up the harbour with the bagpipes playing on McGregor's barge (the welcoming party) fading behind her in the distance.

Stunning designer in his day!

Frank

Re: Crowther Buccaneer Trimarans.

There is a boat builder in either picton or waikawa bay new zealand his last name is Clouston He built a 33 my father owned it for a while He may still have his plans Look him up on google maybe.Awesome sailing boats have sailed it 500 kms on a coastal run they just go faster and faster as wind increases I blew out the genoa they are not like sailing a mono.Hit a storm in her and she just glided over the swells I was very impressed.

Re: Crowther Buccaneer Trimarans.

I see the interest is in Buc 33 plans. I don't have those, but I do have unused (the boat wasn't built) Buc 40 plans. EZI-Fold doesn't list these, and I don't know what the copyright status is.

Cheers,
Joe

Re: Crowther Buccaneer Trimarans.

I was under the impression that Lock Crowther's Plans, were for all purposes, hermetically sealed away somewhere. Am I wrong on this, & if so, where does one begin looking, if interested in some of his catamarans?
