Bluewater Catamarans - 36-42'

Dean 365 Catamaran Performance?

My fiance and I are looking with interest at a Dean 365 Catamaran. We are looking for a Cat that will take us safely around the Caribbean for a couple of years and then perhaps around the world. We have not been able to find any discussion on the internet regarding this type of Cat. We would appreciate any experiences, information or opinions on this model. Sail performance? Build Quality? Deck Slamming? Etc.

Also, has anybody got information on a Dean 400 - deck clearance, performance, etc?

Any suggestion on buying a 38 - 42' used cruising, blue water (ocean crossing) catamaran?

In the menu bar, above, that begins User CP, click on Search (third option from right). In the sub-menu that opens, enter Dean Catamarans in the Google Custom Search box. You'll find several threads. Read. Enjoy.

I don't know about the Dean catamarans.

We did our circumnavigation on a Privilege 39 catamaran, and I have seen the 37, 39, 42, 45, and 48 foot Privilege cats in ports all around the world. They are very robust - strongly built. They are definitely up to the rigors of offshore voyaging.

Check out the Catana, Lagoon 380, 410 and 42, Admiral 38 and 40 in addition to the Privilege (which is also a very nice boat). Although it's out of your size consideration, a SF 44 MK II is often less expensive that the ones listed above.

The older Lagoon 37 and 42 are great cats, good bridgedeck clearance, US built by TPI. very stable in a blow too....
