ALIENS!!

Saw these little cats in the St Petersburg FL yard where we just finished haul-out. I'll bet they're a HOOT to sail!

Looks like what the Jetsons would have sailed


In case you can't read it in the photos, they are called "Spydra Cats" and I'm told they're built locally - using shared space at the Endeavour Catamaran facility.

They do look interesting. My first thought was that you get more righting moment and therefore more speed by having the crew and skipper out on trapeze wires. They do look fun if speed is not the goal.

That white one looks as if it has two parallel main masts. Can that be right? Snd how would that work?

Mark, which kind of sails do they have? Looks like the yellow one's mast is squareley midship. Any more info on them?
